Climate Scientist of Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force to Speak about Lessons Learned
The Utah Climate Center and the Department of Plants, Soils and Climate presents "Science and Sandy: Lessons Learned" on June 21 at 11 a.m. in AGRS 141. At this presentation, the climate scientist for the Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force, Kevin Werner, will talk about how scientific expertise was used by the task force after the devastating hurricane last year.
The task force was established following Hurricane Sandy's impact on the mid-Atlantic region. President Obama established this group to ensure the federal government continued to provide appropriate resources to support affected state, local and tribal communities to improve the regions resilience, health and prosperity by building for the future.
